Lately it occurs to me, what a long strange trip it's been.

I put the "v" in vapid -- TV, music, clothes, shopping issues, etc. Nothing here is going to change your way of thinking, except maybe shoe choices.

In the book The GM, the Giants GM Ernie Accorsi addressed the team the day he retired. It is a brilliant short speech and caused the team to give him a standing ovation. Given in January 2007 he said: "You're good kids. Stay together. Trust each other and be good teammates to one another. I believe there is a championship in this room."
